Can't read the Sky.

Unfortunately, the weather is not cooperating again today. The morning is rainy. There are occasional sunny periods that we take advantage of by lounging by the pool to improve our tan and prevent sunburn.

Since reading the sky is really impossible and there could be clouds and rain at any time, it is difficult to plan an outing. Therefore, we have decided to postpone it to tomorrow or Sunday. So, today we will once again follow the motto of our hostel surf - eat - chill - repeat and relax and enjoy the brief moments of sunshine whenever they come.

Unfortunately, Emily and Nisma left us around noon today. Emily is now heading to Ubud - to the lovely guesthouse that Nisma recommended. However, her stay there ends on the same day we arrive, so we will miss each other. Then she will go back to Vietnam.
Nisma's next destination is Seminyak. After that, her vacation is over and she will return to England.

On the previous day, we got to know two of Emily's roommates - Benjamin from Finland and Sebastian from Norway. And from the room next to ours, we also met Michael from South Africa.
Benjamin teaches us a Finnish card game that is really simple and perfect for when people from different countries are sitting at a table - easy to explain and quick to understand.

Of course, we also teach them one of our card games - Zehnerling (also known as 'An old lady's game').

Angelika also got new roommates - two lovely girls from Finland who join us for lunch. They have been traveling for over 3 months.

After lunch, Lisa, Angelika, Michael, Rob, and the Finnish girls go for yoga - a free hour is offered. However, this time it's more about meditation - mainly lying on the floor with closed eyes and feeling and breathing from within - that afterwards everyone tells me how afraid they were that they would just fall asleep and miss the moment when they should sit up again.

So much tiredness is definitely a call for lounging on the beach. And that's what we do - Angelika and the Finnish girls join us. After conquering the wild waves right in front of the beach, we manage to go a bit further out into the sea, where the waves become a bit calmer again.

And what would the day be without a happy hour at the old man's. For one hour, everyone gets two drinks for the price of one. After Angelika, Lisa, and I sit down, Michael and Rob happen to pass by. Rob is from Switzerland and mainly here for surfing. It's nice to be able to communicate in German for a change. It's a fun evening. New people keep coming to our table, introducing themselves, and wanting to know where we come from and what adventures we have planned. Everyone is very open and the atmosphere is incredibly relaxed. Because people have difficulty pronouncing Angelika's name, we now call her Angi. I tell her that this is also the nickname of our Chancellor, who always has the corners of her mouth pointing downwards and holds her hands in a rhombus pose. That's the insider for the rest of the evening.

In the evening, we also meet Omar, who is always smiling and in a good mood. He is originally from Chile, but has been living in Brazil for about six months. He is also Michael's new roommate.

And then there's Riley from Canada, who looks a bit like Thor - the God of Thunder from the Marvel movies - and has an incredible need to talk. Another good reason to go to bed early. And of course, to be fit for the next day. Because then it's time to surf, surf, surf.
