With Carlos we start on a day trip to the 'Sacred Valley of the Incas' as the Spaniards called it. Before we descend through the beautiful green Andean landscape to the Urubamba River, we first visit the small high-altitude village of Chinchero. Here, colonial structures mix with the remains of Inca architecture. Particularly impressive is the massive Inca wall at the Plaza with trapezoidal niches. There is also art to see in the colonial church built on the Inca wall, but photos are not allowed, as in many churches and museums. On the Sunday market, there is a lot of woven items in colorful colors.
