After already being in Areopoli for the third day, we finally explored the city or village and were quite surprised. If the center is characterized by taverns and bars, then that's what it was.
Therefore, we went to the beach faster than expected, but it was much windier than the day before, so we didn't stay here long either and continued our tour through the Mani on Thursday.
In Porto Kagio, a former pirate harbor, we unexpectedly had super delicious fish - the tavern was open on the last day.
From there, we went back up the east side to Areopoli - with one or two obstacles on the road. Like a sleeping goat that simply didn't let itself be disturbed and the sheepdog that did the same.
In the morning of the next day, we paid a short visit to the Vlychada Diros cave, as the boat tour in the cave was significantly shortened due to Corona.
Afterwards, we had a challenging but worthwhile hike planned, including breaking into the Castell. Afterwards, it turned out that we just had to walk a few meters further to easily reach the castle via a staircase. On the way back, initially enthusiastic, the path led us through a dry riverbed that seemed to never end. After scrambling over stones for about 2 hours, we finally reached the end of the riverbed.
