Today we continue our journey towards the coast. We have breakfast, pack up, and hitch up. By now, we are quite skilled and everyone knows what to do. We leave the beautiful campsite and set off. The navigation chooses a somewhat strange route and takes us through a lonely country road. We are quite happy about it because the scenery is wonderful. Lots of green, mountains, forests, no people. One can easily imagine that there is a fairly large population of brown bears living here. The Lika region only survives on the tourism of the Plitvice Lakes. There's not much else here. If you leave the main road that leads to the lakes, the nature is still almost untouched and you can almost see Winnetou riding in the distance across the plain (The Treasure of the Silver Lake was filmed in the area).
After a while, the road leads to the highway. The drive becomes less spectacular and we make our way through the Dinaric Mountains. The last stretch goes through some tunnels. When we reach the other side of the mountains, the landscape changes radically. There's a lot less green, more rocks, and... the sea!
Marik is very excited when he sees it for the first time. We drive along the coast to Sibenik.
Upon arrival at the camping resort, we choose a pitch, set up, and go to the beach. It's 25 degrees and we finally take out our summer clothes. We eat a little something and dip our feet in the water.
There is a pool and a loooot of beach. Leo happily plays with the stones. Later, we walk along the promenade and explore the area.
In the evening, we go into Šibenik for a short shopping trip. Afterwards, we have dinner at the restaurant on the campsite and Tobi and Marik watch the sunset at the beach and throw stones into the sea.
