Perth - with the S-bahn to the Indian Ocean

Ebipụtara: 05.11.2017

Perth can be imagined as a mix between London and New York - amidst imposing skyscrapers that seem to reach the sky, the traces of the past are also visible in the form of small and truly sweet churches or old buildings that appear inconspicuous in contrast to the giant glass structures.

The oldest building in Western Australia, which the Western Australians proudly present, was built in 1830 and is the Round House in Fremantle - a prison for British prisoners - so the history does not go back that far.

In Kings Park, we were greeted by the first colorful budgies flying around and entertaining us with their

Pinnacle Tour and why kangaroos have 3 nipples.

Our Pinnacles tour started early at 7 am and we were picked up from the hotel by a very funny guide. In total, we made 3 stops or 4.

Did you know that a female kangaroo has 3 nipples of different sizes in her pouch? :P - Well, neither did we, but we learned it at Yanchep National Park (our 1st stop) - three different sizes for three different stages of Joey's development :P

Here in Yanchep Park, we saw wild kangaroos and koalas, but they were sitting and sleeping too high up in the trees. However, we were supposed to see the kangaroos in the shade again at dusk (stop 4), and I can already tell you that we did :D the cute wallabies grazed everywhere on the meadows and were not bothered by us at all.

Next Stop: surfing on a sand dune :D We went straight down the snowy white dunes with a sand surfboard - it was incredibly fun, and I even came in second place in the race.

The Pinnacles - rock formations made of calcium carbonate.

An adventure tour on Rottnest Island and the search for quokkas

We took the ferry from Fremantle to Rottnest Island, where

we walked across the island, along the coast, got lost in search of the lighthouse, walked in circles and back again, and finally didn't find it. Instead, we saw beautiful sandy beaches with totally romantic bays, a turquoise blue sea, and fossil imprints of corals in the rocks.

Our time in Perth is already over, and yesterday we arrived in Alice Springs.

From 'cold' Perth, we went straight to the hot center of Australia - we started at 20 degrees and now we have arrived at 40 degrees ^^
