still on the 10-hour bus ride, we arrived in Chiang Mai early in the morning and first looked for a guesthouse. In this big city, also known as the old city, it was not a problem to find numerous guesthouses and accommodations. First, we rested a bit because we couldn't sleep well on the bus. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to rent a scooter directly at our guesthouse. Of course, we took advantage of this immediately and set off to explore the city. At first, it was a bit confusing because in Thailand, there is a lot of traffic and usually, the first one to drive has the advantage. It is a beautiful city and, in contrast to Bangkok, much less hectic. However, everything looked quite similar thanks to the navigation on our mobile phone, we were able to find our way around. In the afternoon, we left the center of Chiang Mai and went to visit the "Montha Than Waterfall". When we returned, we went to the small Jacuzzi in our guesthouse for a swim. Later, we went to the Saturday Market.
Today, we drove the same route again, but this time we went further to the waterfall and then continued on the correct path. On the way, there was a huge temple called "Wat Phra That Doi Suthep" with a viewpoint overlooking Chiang Mai. After visiting the temple, we went to a small village called "Don Pui", which was located up in the mountains and about an hour away. In Don Pui, there was a beautiful park with lots of nice photo opportunities. In the evening, when we returned to Chiang Mai, we went to the Night Bazaar, which was very busy. And then we went to the Hard Rock Cafe, where there was live music and we had a really cool evening. Tomorrow, we booked a minibus ride to Pai. The journey takes about 3 hours and we will arrive in Pai in the afternoon.
