5. Thailand - On Koh Lanta

Ebipụtara: 26.02.2018

Approach to Thailand's Island World

Koh Lanta should be the place where Martje and I meet again after we last saw each other in Stuttgart in early January.

But first, I had the first few days to myself to get my diving license (Open Water Diver) (Martje already has it). That meant watching 6 hours of instructional videos and reading textbooks for a day, practicing on the beach for a day, and doing 4 real dives to a depth of 18m over 2 days.

Koh Lanta is a calm, relaxed island. Besides diving, swimming, and snorkeling, I enjoyed playing volleyball in the afternoons, dancing on the slackline, and of course eating delicious food: curries, pad thai, spicy papaya salad, exotic fruits I had never seen before, and much more.

After 6 days, Martje finally arrived on the island, eagerly awaited.

Tomorrow we will continue our island hopping towards Koh Muk, another calm but probably very beautiful and untouched island.
