On Saturday, we drove to one of the three most important Buddhist sites in Nepal - Namobuddha. According to legend, Buddha saved a tigress and her cubs from starving by offering himself as food at that exact spot, where there is now a kind of chapel at Namobuddha. In addition to other worship rooms, the large golden Buddha figure is one of the main attractions where devotees worship Buddha and make offerings.
Another interesting experience was participating in the prayer of the Buddhist monks. Monks of all ages, starting from elementary school children, gathered in a large grand room and read together the Tibetan text in front of them. This was regularly interrupted by the monks beating drums, blowing trumpets, and shaking rattles.
