Summer in Advent

At first, we thought that the house and the garden hadn't been cleaned for a long time. Now we see that a few days are enough for everything to be covered in gray dust again. It's hard to keep up with it. I just came back from a walk, which is not relaxing with all the traffic. If we didn't have our oasis here, the city would drive me crazy.

Yesterday we bought Christmas decorations. It can hardly be beaten in terms of kitsch, and this year we will join in.

In the supermarket today, we actually found beer from Valdivia, Chile, where we lived for 6 years. The brewery belongs to the Kunstmann family, a member of our former church community. And yesterday, Martin was at the Humboldt School, the German school here in Lima. The director is from Melle, and he was also a teacher in Valdivia in the eighties, right after our time. How small the world is.
