Day 14 - A bit crazy in the head...,
...but that's not why we saw a polar bear today. And it wasn't a mirage either, although it was pretty hot today.๐
The many impressions from two weeks are leaving their mark. Positive memories, of course, but also a significant strain on the 'hard drive'.๐ณ And so today we strolled through the resort town of Haapsalu, which was sleeping in the midday heat.๐กโ๏ธ๐ด We quickly ended up for coffee on the shady terrace of the Kurhaus - with a view of the sea and an ice floe.โ By the way, it carried a polar bear...๐พ๐คจ Art? Indications of climate change?๐ The internet didn't make us any smarter, except that the bear has apparently been photographed before.๐ธ
To reach our goal for today, we still had a bit of a way to go: with the ferry (30 min.) from Virtsu to the island of Muhu and crossing it, and then reaching the island of Saaremaa via a causeway.โด๐
Everything went well, we arrived in the main town of Kuressaare. 15,000 inhabitants, unfortunately not a lonely fishing village.๐ It's getting all dressed up, construction site in the pedestrian zone. But it's very nice by the sea.๐ Exploring the big Bishop's Castle was fun.๐ค
Now we had a picnic on the hotel balcony. And tomorrow we will 'experience' the island more...๐ Probably in the rain, but after so many sunny days, we really can't complain.๐
