Off into the void - Muxia - 09 November

Diterbitkan: 19.11.2019

The spaghetti bollo were fantastic, Röbi has good tips, lots of red wine, and adding the "rind" of the Parmesan to the sauce gives it a very fine taste! You know what! So we don't starve, the two give us two more good portions for the next day...great...! After a great evening in Switzerland, with cozy temperatures, the night is rainy again! But the morning greets us with sunshine and we can enjoy our coffee and croissants in front of the bus. Then it's time to say goodbye, we leave Silvia and Röbi and continue along the coast. But before we do that, we still drive to Playa de Las Catedrales, after all, it's just around the corner. Unfortunately, we're too late, because the tide is already too strong and we can't go to the beach anymore, besides, it starts raining heavily when we drive into the parking lot. We take some photos and then we saddle up again.

We drive on country roads and pass through fragrant eucalyptus forests, cross small bridges and travel along beautiful coastal roads. In the afternoon, near Muxia, we reach the previously selected campsite, which is supposed to be open all year round...except for a loud barking sheepdog, no one is in sight...mmhhh...it looks generally deserted here! We continue driving and after a little over a kilometer, we discover another spot at a beautiful bay...but it looks abandoned too! Jörni marches up the hill to the main house and actually finds a Spanish mother who tells him that they are open and we can stay. Very good!

A really nice place with terraced pitches. We have a complete terrace to ourselves, because besides us, it seems that no one else ist here. It also looks a bit like a construction site here, they probably use the off-season for some construction work, but that doesn't bother us. We communicate with hands and feet, as the Spanish mother only speaks damn fast Spanish...Jörn and I smile kindly and nod...!

Afterwards, we pack our backpack and go down to the beach. A great bay, also just for us...wonderful! We climb over rocks, search for shells, and enjoy a cold drink! When dusk sets in, another kitesurfer gets ready and races through the bay at a high speed. This in turn excites the little dog who walks on the beach with its owners so much that it relentlessly chases after the kitesurfer and can only be caught again when the kitesurfer comes out of the water. Then, however, there's plenty of scolding for the dog!

There's really not much happening here...! We walk back and make ourselves comfortable in front of the bus. In the meantime, it starts drizzling again and we set up the rain cover, but it quickly stops and we can sit in front of the cover. After all, our pitch is huge! Later, we finish the remaining bollo that Switzerland gave us and we have an excellent dinner! Everything is cleaned up and we're completely stuffed, so we get ready for bed, admire the view of the illuminated city of Muxia in the distance, and go to sleep in the fart box!

In the night...RAIN...! In the morning...RAIN!

I can summarize the whole day in five letters: R-A-I-N!

Nothing else really happens...! We have a nice place, with a view of the bay and the beautiful Atlantic, and it's pouring buckets without any foreseeable end! Great!

After breakfast, we drag ourselves around and around noon we go to bed and listen to the radio play and the sound of rain on the roof for three hours. Jörni then takes the dog for another walk to the beach and we hope that it stops raining...but it doesn't...! So once again, we retreat to bed early and dream of sunshine!
