Route: Gent - Brussels
Distance: 64 kilometers
Weather: sunny with clouds, mostly warm
On this day, not only the weather is a bit cloudier and cooler, but also our mood, as we are simply exhausted from the not very sleep-intensive nights.
The route, which is rather short again, takes us along railway tracks through not so pretty Flemish towns and there are even a few meters of elevation to conquer. It starts to rain near the town of Wetteren, but soon stops, and to celebrate this event properly, we take a break. But only a short one, because everyone wants to arrive.
Our first impression of the city of Brussels is not the best: compared to the previous cities, it is too dirty, noisy, tall, and even the old town is not very glamorous. We check into the hostel and give the city another chance by strolling through the old town, letting the grand town hall square impress us, which admittedly is quite impressive, and finally eating Indian food - the restaurant also adds a positive point to the city and we were soon reconciled with it. Nevertheless, it doesn't take long before Anna, Alex, and Nico start their return journey in the night, Krissi and Max want to explore the city in detail the next day, and I plan to continue my journey with over 100 kilometers.
