Day 6 - Queenstown Gondola and Deer Park Hights

Today we went to Queenstown again. Among other things, we took the gondola to a viewing platform to take photos of the skyline; here you could also have taken a hiking trail up to Ben Lomond. We also visited the Deer Park Hights and went for a walk. With this in mind: Welcome to Rohan! Not only were many of the equestrian scenes filmed on the hills, but also the moment in winter when Frodo stumbled, lost the ring and Boromir picked it up. Helm's Deep and the entrance to Moria were also staged with the mountains in the background (the Remarkables).

By the way, the area around Arthurs Point (where we live) was used for the River Anduin and Arwen's river scene.
