Explore the Northern Black Forest

Pibliye: 24.06.2023

on the go

It was time again to search for the background for a photo - that's another story.

Because a friend from Hatten (Lower Saxony) had never been to the Black Forest, the journey itself is the goal. So off to Malsch and then to Völkersbach to the butcher GLASSTETTER. A beautiful route across country roads and through villages to the butcher, who is according to Feinschmecker the BEST in the year 2023. I didn't know he was so popular. There was actually a line of people waiting on the stairs in front of the store when we arrived. The wait was worth it. And our guest also treated himself to some things for the journey home!

Then to Dobel via Bad Herrenalb. Beautiful place with a tower that can be climbed without opening hours. Too many steps for people with knee problems. Unfortunately, the distant view was not good enough for us to give it a try.

But coffee with homemade cake (very delicious!) at DOBELS STÜBLE compensated for that. To the delight of our guest, we then took a very curvy route back to Bad Herrenalb via the district of Rotensol and then towards Karlsruhe.

In Frauenalb, chairs were already set up for a concert. This sight was also worth seeing - with music it is certainly even more beautiful. The street was blocked by a police vehicle, so we had to take a detour to drive through unknown, beautiful small towns.

We were enticed by Ettlingen, with its nicely decorated alleys, beautiful houses, and shops that are not found everywhere. In a small courtyard in the old town of Ettlingen, we found the WOLLPARADIES. We already bought the yarn for the next knitting project. The next long car trip can come. This place also impresses our friend from the north. The bridges over the Alb with the well-maintained flower boxes, the water dippers, and the gently splashing water have something truly soothing. 'Like the 'Hase' in Osnabrück - only more beautiful', he says. True! The city train station does not skimp on water - a great fountain cools the air. This should also please the guests of the neighboring ice cream parlor.

With a happy northerner and several balls of yarn, we left Ettlingen again. We didn't go on a hike, which was better for all the travelers considering the heat - and this tour was also fun.

See you soon
