P.S. (Postscript): Be sure to pay attention to the captions, otherwise everything is somehow even more meaningless... ;-)
Unspectacular street life in Vellore. Unfortunately, the pictures do not really capture the typical lively life, as I only took pictures when I had a 'quiet spot'... I think I will have to become more hardened... nevertheless, have fun with 'Indien light' in pictures...
... and now the very special topic of 'bus riding', where I am unfortunately lacking any visual material so far, as riding the bus both excites and occupies me, and it is so obvious when someone tries to capture the mood... unless they only do it with their senses and store everything in their large hard drive... only in my head...
... and then try to put it into words...
... so here is hopefully the compensation for 'Indien light' in pictures: 'Indien reloaded' in words...
Man, did I have fun today! Bus riding in India! Highly recommended!
I mean, it's actually nothing new for me... riding buses abroad has long been part of my obligatory program, because that's where the best movies run - and almost for free... it's also nice in London, and even affordable... but in India: sensory overload... SEEING: Of course, the passing street life, but also the fellow travelers and the porn interior of the bus with bright colors, paintings, flower wreaths, holy pictures, altars, sculptures. The face of the conductor when I ask for my change, when he thinks he has just successfully ripped me off - priceless! :-D HEARING: The honking concert from outside, the yelling of the conductor, the awesome Bollywood music. SMELLING: Please read one of my books... oh, yes, the title is 'My first day in India'. FEELING: When the seat neighbor cuddles up close on the two-seater, which is barely wider than our one-seater, and then he also thinks he is entitled to more than half, this shirt - I just say: 'Exactly half.'... I'm probably damaged by Loriot for life...
Did I forget something?... oh yes - TASTING: My chewing gum. That was rather unspectacular. Shortly after boarding, it still tasted like fresh mint. After about an hour of bus ride and about 15 km, and all of it at a rate of 7 [sic!] Eurocents, it tasted like... well... grandma's armpit.
SO! All senses COVERED?
Today I really got my money's worth here - it feels like I'm in a parody... a movie that ONLY runs for ME. Like that one movie with... uh... 'The Truman Show'...
... that would at least explain why everyone looks at me so strangely and sometimes even chuckles... on the bus... in the restaurant, entire restaurant staff watch me eat...
... well, if such a seamless pale alien comes in and eats so strangely and makes such strange noises... that's definitely something worth seeing. - Let the others have their fun too... I DEFINITELY HAD IT TODAY and I'm curious what else is to come...
... good evening, good night,
and maybe see you tomorrow... ;-)
P.S .: I have to make a video on the bus... but at most 2 senses will be covered - at most! You really have to experience it yourself...
