Verliebt in Bornholm

Pibliye: 11.07.2018

Bornholm is an island that you simply have to love.

With its diversity, this small piece of land (40 km wide and 30 km long) is simply impressive and enchanting. Here you can find the finest sandy beach in Europe, deep forests, wide fields, and rugged cliffs.

So it is not surprising that the most beautiful city in Denmark, Svaneke, is located in Bornholm.

Since I arrived here, I have been deeply relaxed and content. This is probably mainly due to the people who live here. Everyone I have met so far loves living here and radiates this.

In addition, there is no traffic chaos, no traffic jams, no crowds. So many factors that can cause stress are already eliminated.

Many young people leave the island for their education or studies. But most of them return to this paradise island.

The family I am living with are very sociable and love to go out with friends and family in the evenings and spend the weekends. This way, I get to know the life of the Bornholmers and the most beautiful spots.

On the weekend, we went out for drinks with friends and afterwards I went to a 'bar' with my host siblings. There I learned Danish billiards.

An old Dane took the trouble to explain the game to me and agreed to be my teacher. But Danish billiards is more like mathematics to me, at least after two rounds he was just as desperate as my math teacher back then. But we had fun and that's what matters.

On Sunday, we took a boat trip with a friend of the family. We drove along the coast to Svaneke, had lunch there, and then drove back in bright sunshine. It was simply fantastic.

The weather hasn't been quite as summery the last two days. In the evenings, we spent time playing cards together in the living room.

Now I still have the next two weeks to enjoy until my departure. Until then, there are still some painting jobs to do. I have been assigned the task of painting the house wall. I hope they won't regret it...

After all, I was usually banned from painting at home because it was supposed to be nice.
