On the first day in Sagres, we walked around the 'town'. There is a fortification that we were able to visit. There are beautiful hiking trails along the cliff coast, with magnificent views over the coastal landscape. We are only 4 km away from the southwesternmost point of the continent: Cabo de Sao Vicente.

In total, we walked for 4 hours, it is much easier and faster by bike.

The campsites here in the south are listed in the ACSI guide, but no longer accept the card. Therefore, one night costs about 28 euros instead of 18. We will survive.

The campsite is the most expensive and worst so far. Luckily, we have washing and dishwashing facilities and a toilet in the camper. For example, it is posted that toilet paper should not be flushed down the toilet in the sanitary facilities because the pipes cannot handle it. Therefore, some campers leave the paper next to the toilet (instead of throwing it in the trash). The sinks only have cold water...

Yesterday and today (10/09/2019) it was very windy, gusts up to 60 km/h. Therefore, we had to retract the awning. It was also significantly colder than the past few days. This was the first time in this vacation that I needed long sleeves.

Sagres is quite beautiful, but difficult to reach on foot.

Nevertheless, we were also there today and had lunch at the harbor.
