Goodbye to Germany

Mixed feelings gripped me on my departure day. Sadness of missing my loved ones, stress as I packed on the last day as always, repotted a plant, worked, glued shoes, oiled my bike, and tidied up the apartment, and anticipation for the upcoming adventure. In this abundance of emotions, it was pure chaos, so the start of the journey was only gradually realized. Now, on my first day in Guatemala, after a good amount of sleep and a healthy meal, which was much needed after the 30-hour journey (5 hours of check-in, 15-hour flight, taxi ride, commute, and airport stay), I realize what I have gotten myself into, what I have left behind, and the uncertainty I have plunged into. Nevertheless, I am very excited about the upcoming time and still consider the decision to be great!

In the end, we arrived safely at Hostal Morenos in Antigua.
