O'ahu ak orevwa Hawaii

Pibliye: 15.09.2017

After leaving my dreamy, modern hostel in Kona on Big Island Hawaii and landing on O'ahu, I was confronted with the other side of Hawaii. The much smaller island of O'ahu is far less diverse in landscape compared to its much younger sister, Big Island. At the hostel, I quickly met a German and a Swiss who I then explored the north side of the island with. At the famous Sunset Beach, we witnessed a truly, unbelievable beautiful sunset, while in front of us the locals were riding the waves in masses. Afterwards, we had garlic shrimp to end the day. A very welcome and tasty change from the usual Hawaiian cuisine, which mainly consists of fried chicken with rice.

The next day, we climbed the approximately 200-meter-high Koko Head, using old railway tracks. The view from the top was nice and gave a good idea of where all the crowds of Asian and American tourists hang out, but I was also very happy that I could fly to Samoa afterwards. O'ahu was definitely not the Hawaii you know from picture books, but rather an overcrowded tourist amusement park. Luckily, I got to know the real Hawaii in the days before.

Reisen bringen immer gute Erfahrungen. O'ahu hätte ich mir als Trauminsel vorgestellt, da bevorzuge ich doch "mein" Sylt.
