Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

The alarm clock rang at 5 o'clock, way too early! But the sunrise at Uluru didn't wait for us! After the sunrise, we had breakfast and then we all met at Uluru. It was only possible to climb Uluru until the end of this month. Everywhere there were signs asking not to climb the rock. Nevertheless, there was a crowd of people there. Only 2 out of 7 of our group climbed it. The rest, including me, took part in a free tour and then circled Uluru on a 10.6 km walk. Due to the intense heat during the day, the paths were closed after a certain time. For example, climbing it after 8am was no longer possible.

After the walk, we went back to the city to the campsite where we had lunch. Then, there was another endless discussion about the further plan. But ultimately, we still went to Kata Tjuta, in the same national park. Also a big rock. Some even say that it is more worth seeing than Uluru. Here too, many paths were closed at noon due to the heat. In Asia, the heat has never bothered anyone. But yes, different safety standards.

Back in the city, we had dinner and then went our separate ways. Some wanted to go to the light show in the evening at Uluru. However, there were only three spots left and not everyone was willing to pay so much money for it. So, part of the group, including me, went to a free campsite outside, while the rest came later.
