When waking up, storm and heavy rain, so we sadly have to cancel the planned dolphin watching tour for the kids and after breakfast (again toast with jam) we head towards Isle of Skye. The landscape is still amazing. We drive for about 2.5 hours until we reach the bridge to Skye. It's about 1 more hour north to the Old Man of Storr, a rock in the shape of an obelisk, located right on the cliff of the island.
We hike for about 1.5 hours round trip, in some cases heavy rain and wind and a pretty steep, muddy ascent... people from all over the world do the same... so it's not surprising to encounter people in swim trunks (with UK flag) and crocs. At least we have an umbrella. From which country? That's right, populous and not on this continent.
We are happy about the short amusement and glad that we can dry and warm up in the caravan. Then we look for our overnight place and find a nice one a few miles north, right by the sea with a small sandy beach. Of course, we are not alone here and share the place with 3 other motorhomes.
But the view of the sea and the nearby islands is a dream!
Unfortunately, no mobile reception! (or thank God?)
