Hi guys,
the last two days we have camped more than we have traveled!
For me, yesterday started quite early, already at 4:30 am I got out of bed because I wanted to watch the sunrise. Since our campsite, as described before, offered a great view over the sea and the rising sun behind it, getting up early was definitely worth it! I combined the sunrise with a phone call to Grandma Petra, to whom I sent Australian birthday greetings, and then I went back to bed and closed my eyes again.
When we were both awake, we had a nice morning and then packed our stuff together at some point.
After saying goodbye to kangaroos, which let us pet and cuddle them extensively, we soon made our way to the city. We explored the nature of "Agnes Waters", had a drink in a café, and then drove to "1770". That's actually the name of the place because James Cook discovered Australia at this place in 1770 and so the Australians decided to simply name the place after the year. Mr. Cook definitely chose a beautiful corner of Australia!
A short time later, we drove another 120km further north to a campsite.
We arrived at dusk, but we were thrilled because of the great location of the place, right by a big river, and after a short dinner, I had a brief phone call with Mom and soon went to bed. This morning we packed our things very early and made our way to the nearest town. We had a little snack at McDonald's on the way, but after about 20 minutes we arrived in "Gladstone"!
Here we did some shopping, including regular groceries but also some board games.
Among other things, Ann-Estelle gave me a new Monopoly game for my collection, namely the "Australia Edition". I bought the Monopoly game of New Zealand as well and I was even more excited about the gift!😊
Well stocked for the next few days, we made our way back to the campsite by the river. We spent the whole afternoon and evening here. We played a few games, went swimming in the river, relaxed in the sun, and after a great dinner, we are now in bed!
Today we found an advertisement for a job that we would really like. It is a job in an "apple packhouse". However, if we were accepted for this job, we would definitely have to adjust our travel route, so it is uncertain what we will do in the coming days! However, one thing is for sure, we will make the best of it and have a great time!
Greetings from River Ranch, Australia!🇦🇺
Your Tim!😊
