Nairobi National Park - safari at the end

Pibliye: 16.11.2023

Our day today started early - we were picked up at 5 a.m. to go to the train station because we were heading back to Nairobi. Since Andrea and Dieter's flight home didn't start until 11:55 p.m. and we hadn't seen any rhinos on the safari in the Masai Mara National Park, we decided to use the remaining time and go on another safari. The city of Nairobi borders directly on the Nairobi National Park, so we were able to go on another safari. James, our guide from the last safari, picked us up at the train station in the jeep at 2:20 p.m. and we were already in the national park at 3:00 p.m. The unique thing about this national park is that you can see wild animals right in front of the skyline of a big city.

After just a few minutes we were able to spot the first rhino and we were doubly lucky because the rhino had a baby. Overall, we saw a lot of rhinos - Dieter stopped counting at ten. We were able to see some of the rhinos up close. We were also able to observe many other animals, some of which even had offspring. Even though we were only in the national park for three hours, we had a lot of sightings. The safari was absolutely worth it! As the icing on the cake, after the rhino sighting we also saw the Big Five in full.

After the safari, James drove us to the hotel. The four of us had dinner here and then drove to the airport together, where we had to say goodbye to Madlin's parents.

Our adventure continues tomorrow - we fly to New York and spend part of the pre-Christmas period here.
