Elea Beach is not one of the typical Park4night places...
It is really worth staying here a little longer. Staying a little longer is then something between 2 nights and a few months. In fact, you often meet travelers who have settled down at Elea Beach for a longer period of time, more or less unexpectedly. This place offers everything to live here in the short or long term, a temporary home.
You can meet good company and interesting people from all over the world here. The Germans still seem to love Greece. Thanks to Udo Jürgens. We have probably all heard and drunk a little too much "Greek Wine".
In addition to reports about people and nature, it is also important to focus on the essential characteristics and peculiarities of a country. It is important to me to explore the culinary diversity in great detail. An examination of the local cuisine naturally leads to a better understanding of the culture. I am reporting from personal experience, after all, I have now eaten dozens of börek and can therefore undoubtedly claim to have gotten to know the culture very well. Anyone who has eaten pizza in Italy for the first time knows this.
But in addition to börek and food in general, I also have a heart for bad comparisons and a bit of irony.
The actual experience took place today at Lidl, the European place for cultural encounters. To be honest, what I call a culinary experience here has as little to do with each other as Oktoberfest and a yoga retreat in Ibiza.
In a brainstorming session on the topic of Greece, Feta would of course be one of the first terms mentioned. I love Feta cheese. I was already aware in advance that I would try one or the other shepherd's cheese here. You can hardly avoid Greek wine here.
What I ultimately want to say is that I was a little surprised by the quantities and the variety of Feta available here, or in Lidl. The range of Feta undoubtedly makes up 85% of the refrigerated section here. The white gold is sold here in kilograms. It is certainly not wrong to have a few kilos of potatoes or flour at home. On the other hand, 2.5kg of Feta in the refrigerator is pure quality of life. In terms of space, you then need an extra refrigerator, but it is worth it.
'Know your limit,' I said to myself as I held the 2kg can in my hand.
Finally, I decided on a 500g pack.
