After the storm on day 14, we no longer had Wifi in our accommodation. The router literally exploded because a lightning strike hit nearby. Since then, technicians (sometimes up to eight!) have been regularly in the camp trying to create a temporary solution. It's working again since this morning, so we decided (after dropping off the scooter - *sob*) to maintain our social contacts and connect with the outside world. Additionally, there are some photos, videos, and blog entries to catch up on.
We have breakfast and play a few rounds of Yahtzee. One of the two (incredibly cute and very friendly) dogs of the camp owners comes by and looks curiously at us while we roll the dice. The dog thinks it's food and eats one of the dice. I manage, crying with laughter, to retrieve the die from the beast's throat using a learned technique. But the dog doesn't give up - it thinks we want to play with it - and remains incredibly fascinated by the dice. The 'dad' whistles it back. He is currently harvesting all the fruits from the area. We watch as he separates a huge banana stalk from the tree and picks small pineapples - he gives us one of them - super tasty, although not much on it.
The 'mom' of the camp asks us if the Wifi is working again and we take the opportunity to ask her if we can stay a few more days - of course! booked! She points out that the next days could be crowded because of the Full Moon Party.
We continue to 'work' a bit and enjoy sitting on our terrace. Every now and then, we jump into the pool to cool off. It's already getting dark, and we make our way to the restaurant where we ate a few days ago. There's Massaman Curry, Fried Chicken, and Fried Banana with two fruit shakes. We are as full as we haven't been in a long time and are very grateful that we can take a nighttime digestion walk back to our accommodation.
