Tag 1+2 Arrival Alajuela

When we landed around 6:30 p.m., we were pretty exhausted. We just wanted to receive the car and go to bed. The handover was not easy in the darkness and heavy rain.

The drive to the hotel was supposed to take only 15 minutes. Unfortunately, there was a lot of traffic and the route was very confusing, so we got lost a few times. In the end, it took us 45 minutes.

In the future, we will definitely avoid driving in the darkness.

Once we arrived at the hotel, we quickly had something to eat and went to bed. The night was already over at 6:00 a.m. when animal sounds woke us up. But we wanted to continue to the Arenal Volcano and had a 3-hour drive ahead of us.

At breakfast, we quickly agreed on a hotel. This time it was a bit more expensive, which we don't usually do. However, La Fortuna in the Arenal Volcano is known for its thermal springs, and we should have some in the hotel, so we don't have to use the public ones. We will pay a few more euros for that, but pictures will follow. We will stay here for two days and enjoy the view of the volcano, which is one of the most active volcanoes in the world.
