Instead of celebrating carnival in Cologne, we are flying to the other side of the world for 4 weeks this year.

After 2.5 months in the new job, I have earned a vacation 😂 Although, I will miss my dear colleagues a little and would have liked to celebrate with them.

Those who know us also know that the journey is anything but direct.

We start in Cologne with Van Rudy towards Limburg.

Here we leave our van at the workshop because some things still need to be repaired and to avoid the risk of it being stolen in front of our door.

From Limburg we take the train to Frankfurt and from Frankfurt to Strasbourg with the TGV. (Flights that start in the neighboring country are still much cheaper) But since there is no flight from Strasbourg, we will be taken to Frankfurt by Lufthansa bus (weren't we there yesterday??😫) Anyway, we have to take the first segment (the bus ride) in order to fly at this price.

Unfortunately, the train from Frankfurt to Strasbourg is delayed, so we are worried whether we will catch the bus. Furthermore, the train is completely overcrowded.

We still catch the bus and after over 2 hours we are back in Frankfurt....sitting in the lounge....the vacation can begin.

From Frankfurt we continue to Singapore (12 hours flight time) and first take a nap.
