So, today was another beautiful day. I walked to Watsons Bay and wanted to take the ferry to Manly from there. Michelle had checked that there was a ferry at 10:50 am. Mandy is practically a peninsula opposite us. However, the 10:50 am ferry is a private company and I wouldn't have been able to use my Opal card. By the way, this Opal card is really great. I can use it for all buses, trains, and ferries in and around Sydney. You can simply reload it through a mobile app. The maximum amount that is deducted from it in a day is 15 AUD (10 Euro), which means that if I wanted to, I could ride ferries and buses all day and it would only cost me 15 AUD. That's why it doesn't matter if I take the wrong bus or ferry.
So, then back from Watsons Bay to Circular Quay by ferry and from there take the ferry to Manly.
Manly is said to have the most beautiful beaches in Sydney, which is certainly true. Only today, you could hardly see the beaches because of all the people. I quickly disappeared and went for a hike to North Head, which is a peninsula exactly opposite my peninsula (Hornby Lighthouse, where I was on the third day).
Again, beautiful views and of course the ups and downs of the trails. After this vacation, I will come back really "fit as a fiddle". Then I took the ferry back to Circular Quay. I initially wanted to go to the city for a bit, but then I was simply too tired and went back with the ferry. I was so tired and it was so nice to sit in the sun that I didn't get off in Rose Bay.
So, back to Circular Quay and to Rose Bay again. I was planning to take the bus then. I was hoping to see another sunset while walking back home. Unfortunately, it was too hazy. In the evening, I had a glass of wine on the terrace with Michelle and Gavin.
Tomorrow I will take it easier, stay around here, and bring my bathing suit. Michelle and Gavin have given me some good tips on places that might not be so crowded.
See you later, Roswitha
