„Jacob's“ path and Obatzda

A cleverly planned day!

After everything was completely overcrowded at the swimming lakes last weekend, we planned the whole thing strategically:

Get up and go swimming at the lake without breakfast. Wonderful atmosphere and lonely bathing pleasure. It's so much fun to cover all the routes by bike. We lie in the sun by the lake until we are dry and our stomachs loudly announce their need for breakfast. Short stop at the bakery and then quickly towards the coffee machine.

After a lavish breakfast, we plan the route for today. We quickly agree: turn left from the house until a sign appears and then see how it goes from there.

We highly recommend this route! Beautiful bike paths, very varied, through villages, farms, and fields, then uphill and downhill. Gravel paths, many paved bike paths. Shade and sun. Heat that makes everything shimmer in front of us and is bearable thanks to the wind while riding. We love the scent that the sun conjures up when it shines with all its might on pine forests. Take a deep breath and hold down the "save" button.

The path leads us "accidentally?" to the Jacob... Brauerei Gasthof in Bodenwöhr. When you're on vacation, you can drink beer in the middle of the day, and when you're cycling, definitely Radler.

We're lucky and get a wonderful spot with a view of Hammersee in the well-visited restaurant, even though we didn't make a reservation, of course.

In our experience, brewery guesthouses always have good beer AND good food. Same here. Cheese spaetzle for Mario and Obatzda for Petra... so close to heaven! Afterwards, without a precise tour plan, we just continue on the beautiful bike paths until we see a direction that we have heard of before. On an incline, we spot animals in the pasture. Are those kangaroos? We get closer and realize that a.) we need glasses and b.) that it is fallow deer. A magnificent deer and many young animals are in the herd. Now we go downhill for a bit. Through small villages and past meadows and fields. At the edge of the cornfield, a deer runs parallel to the road with us for a while and then disappears. There's a great go-kart track in Wackersdorf. We're lucky and a future Formula 1 world champion is just doing laps. The heat is unbearable when standing still, so we keep going. It's fun to simply enjoy without any time pressure and to be surprised when and how we will return to the vacation rental. With great impressions, beautiful pictures, and writing our story, we end the day with a glass in the garden and look forward to tomorrow.
