Kaiteriteri - Tag1; Ferry

We are on the South Island! That means we have completed the smaller part of New Zealand.

This morning at 9 o'clock our ferry left Wellington and brought us to Picton in a good three hour drive. Afterwards we continued for another five hours by bus to Abel Tasman National Park.

The sky had become very cloudy by now and our bus driver warned us that a storm was predicted for the next day.

After having our farewell dinner with Ulli, as he is staying in Kaiteriteri longer, we went to the golden beach for a short walk. Walking on the fine sand and listening to the waves was very relaxing, so we stayed there for two hours.

Back at the hostel, we went to bed relatively quickly, as we were all tired from our 'Lord of the Rings Night' and the long journey.
