I have seen many spectacular things in my life. Breathtaking nature, clouds, sunrises and sunsets, forests, beaches and landscapes. But I am so incredibly happy that we are far from full and that nature/our world can still inspire us.
That's what happened today. But first things first. We set off in our car to the start of the Great Ocean Road. From there we drove 250 kilometers towards the 12 Apostles.
The journey was simply breathtaking. Of course there were villages and not very spectacular views along the way, but there were always views of the cliffs, the jungle, roads through the rainforest, uphill and downhill, endless expanses and lots of cockatoos.
The highlights of the trip were our stops: Castle Cove, Gibson Steps, 12 Apostles, Razorbacks and Loch Arch. (See photos).
At first I was a little sad that the weather wasn't so good and it even rained at times, but in the end the clouds created a spectacular play of light, which made the scenery even more mystical and magical.
I was particularly fascinated by the places with the setting sun in the background. And everyone can take photos with a bright blue sky 🤣
Since it was already quite late, we decided not to drive back to Melbourne after our last stop and booked a hotel in Geelong, a small port town about 70 km from Melbourne.
On the way, I looked out of the car window and saw it glittering from above. Suddenly, all the clouds seemed to have disappeared. I asked Siar to stop and we got out. And there it was: the Milky Way. Soooo beautiful. After Death Valley, this is the second time that Siar and I have been able to enjoy this view and I could still cry because it is just so beautiful.
It was once again a very special day and the amount of happiness and joy I feel about it doesn't really fit in one body. So it's good that Siar and I can share it and even redistribute a little bit to Kian hahaha.
Tomorrow we want to go looking for kangaroos. It will be interesting to see if we find any.
