This morning, despite arriving quite late the previous day, we were already on the move at 9 o'clock. Our goal was to take one of the first cable cars up Table Mountain. Unfortunately, this did not go as planned, as the cable car was closed due to the cloudy and windy weather. However, the trip up was still worthwhile for us, as we could enjoy a first beautiful view of the city below. Tomorrow morning we will try our luck again depending on the weather.
The second item on our itinerary was a visit to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. When planning our vacation back home, I was initially skeptical if it would be worth it for us. But since our Airbnb host Tania - who, by the way, is super nice - also recommended the garden to us, it was clear: we have to see it. I'm so glad we decided to go: it was definitely worth it! The garden was so diverse - I think the pictures speak for themselves.
Afterwards, we went to the V&A Waterfront, the port of Cape Town, to get back into civilization. We visited the V&A Foodmarket to have a small snack. Today's breakfast was quite small because we did our grocery shopping in the evening. Both Hermann and I chose a kind of wrap with lamb or vegetarian filling. Those who know me won't be surprised that I especially enjoyed the bread around it. 😀
