My absolute favourite: Mangawhai Cliffs Walk

My absolute favorite for hiking around Auckland with a distance of up to 90 minutes by car: Mangawhai Cliffs Walk

Cliffs, wonderful views, a little up and down, a beautiful beach with white AND black sand, stones, rocks, coves. Wonderful!!!

Many hiking trails, especially on the west coast, have been closed for over a year now. A cyclone in early 2023 destroyed a large number of paths, bridges, etc. and many paths are impassable. But Mangawhai Heads and the cliffs there are. So: definitely stop and/or drive there! Definitely a magical place!

PS: Last week the website also said that Mangawhai Cliffs Walk was closed. However, when I was there, there was no barrier or anything.
