It's the 1st day of the 10th week, a day of rest, it will be a wonderful day.
We say goodbye early to our wonderful hostess and march on to Conques.
Along the way, contacts are maintained:
... traveling with donkey and family
In Conques we meet so many people again, who started with us a week ago in Le Puy-en-Velay. Conques is simply wonderful.
Conques is dominated by the Abbey and Cathedral of Sainte Foy, always an important stage for Santiago pilgrims.
Despite a failed reservation, we find good accommodation, in an emergency shelter with discarded shoes and lost items, free for those in need.
An Premonstratensian monk explains to us in the evening the world-famous tympanum above the entrance portal, the separation of the blessed and the damned.
I get to do the reading for the 6 present Germans during the pilgrim blessing.

Arni and I, Paul and Torrie from Canada, Marcel, Chris, Anja and Jolanda from Switzerland spend the evening together.
Farewell from Paul, Torrie continues with us.
