Last weekend we had a long weekend as Monday was a public holiday (Picnic Day). On Saturday, we spent the day at the beach until after sunset, and on Sunday, we went to the wildlife park which was 45 minutes away. Monday was used for rest and shopping.
As a special meal, we discovered gluten-free schnitzel at the supermarket. We tried it right away - it was delicious and the same price as regular schnitzels. It's our new favorite food here. 😋
At the Territory Wildlife Park, only animals that naturally live here are kept. The rangers say that no animal should be forced to live elsewhere - we like this attitude. So we have to be patient to see koalas and wombats until we arrive in Perth. However, we got to pet and feed wallabies (a type of small kangaroo). They were so cute and fluffy, we wanted to take one home. We also saw dingos (a type of wild dog), various bird species, snakes, reptiles, and the aquarium. The aquarium is huge and divided into different tanks, and you walk through a tunnel surrounded by crocodiles, turtles, fish, coral reef, etc. The Monsoon Forest, where so many different animals live, was especially fascinating.
A beautiful trip with stunning landscapes and interesting animals.
Now we have to work for another 4 weeks until we finally start our road trip around Australia.
