South Island Trip - 17th April 2018

Tuesday started off nicely with a short bus ride to the 'city center' of Christchurch. There are some monuments there for the victims of the severe earthquakes. For example, a small field was set up with a white chair for each victim. After a really short walk through the city, we met back at the bus and headed towards Lake Tekapo. The journey took about three hours. Before we arrived at Lake Tekapo, we stopped at another beautiful lake to take photos, but I can't remember its name. When we finally arrived, some people took the opportunity to go swimming in the freezing glacier lake. After dinner, most of us gathered in the communal room and used the time to talk to each other. However, we didn't sleep in a hotel that night, but in large tents with five beds and some blankets (it got as cold as 0 degrees at night).
