Already the 10th day of our trip, which sadly means one third is already over. The day begins rainy. We actually wanted to continue today. But because of the rain, we have a hard time getting started. The kids dance in the caravan and are not bothered by the rain. We're torn about what to do with this rainy day. But since the weather is supposed to stay bad for the next 3 days as well and today there's no sunshine predicted at all, we decide to go on another city tour. We get in the car and drive south along the coastal road towards Split. The drive is beautiful despite the rain. The coast is picturesque. One beautiful bay follows the next and the boats peacefully lie in their harbors.
We pass by the Monastery Primosten. It is located on a drop-shaped peninsula and looks beautiful from afar. They are supposed to have good wine there, but unfortunately, we won't have the chance to test it today.
We continue driving until we reach the old town of Trogir. It is located on a small island and is surrounded by city walls. Churches, palaces, and bourgeois houses are closely crowded together. Trogir is also called the little Venice of Croatia. It is hard to capture the flair of this place in photos.
When entering the town, we find ourselves right on a film set. Not Game of Thrones, but another British series. An episode of 'Strike back' is being filmed right now.
We are standing almost right next to the main actor Daniel MacPherson and he even looks over to us more often laughing while Marik is telling his stories. It is very interesting to see how a movie is being filmed. You hear the words 'aaaand action' echoing through the alleyways from time to time. During the action scenes, shots are even fired and it's exciting for all of us to be part of it.
Of course, we still take our time to explore the beautiful town and enjoy some ice cream. It stays dry and even the sun shows up.
Afterwards, we visit the weekly market and get some fresh strawberries, as Marik wished.
In the late afternoon, we start our way back. We cook in the caravan and can even eat outside. When Marik is supposed to go to bed, a little girl from the caravan across the way comes by. Her name is Maja, she's 3 years old and from... Dresden. What a coincidence. Marik takes his balance bike and the two of them set off. They play until it gets dark and get along wonderfully. It's nice to see how quickly children can make friends. We talk for a while until it starts raining again and it's really time for bed.
