Sunshine Coast - with lots of ... Sunshine

Objavljeno: 24.10.2019

After three days with a busy schedule, it was time for some rest on the Sunshine Coast. I used the first day to visit Noosa. Noosa is actually just the umbrella term for the places Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Tewantin, Sunshine Beach, Sunrise Beach, and five or six other places... I only visited Noosa Heads, Noosaville, and Sunshine Beach, and I found Noosaville especially beautiful. Noosaville is located on the Noosa River, which flows into the Pacific there. The river is filled with water to varying degrees depending on the tides.

This allows for opportunities everywhere to lay on the beach when the tide is low. Either here at the mouth of the river...

... or in the town itself

One part of the town is laid out like a lagoon and villas line up next to each other... I haven't been there yet, but I imagine it to be similar to Miami in Florida.

And if you want, you can also feel a bit like in Venice.

The 'Pacific side' of the town was no less beautiful. A great beach where you can even swim and many surfers were there.

In the late afternoon, the beach was still crowded.

In addition, the town has many nice shops, cafes, and restaurants to offer. It's really a great place to stay and relax.

One more thing happened to me that shows how deeply relaxed I am walking around here now... The whole town is currently blocking off squares and setting up tents. I had read on posters that a triathlon will take place in Noosaville. Then I noticed this sign.

I saw this sign out of the corner of my eye as I walked past and my first thought was, why is this sign pointing out something that won't happen for a few months...? Until I remembered in the next moment, November 01st is already in just over a week... My inner sense of time is somewhere in May or June due to the three and a half weeks of continuous sun and warmth... But definitely not shortly before November. The feeling of November will quickly return after my return. I'm sure of that...

On the second day in Noosa, I was already more active again and took a 11 kilometer long track, called the Coastal Walk, in the national park from Noosa Heads to Sunshine Beach. It always followed the coastline, which had rocky cliffs and long sandy beaches to offer. Signs indicated to occasionally look into the trees, as you could spot wild koalas with luck. Unfortunately, I didn't have that luck this time. But there were stairs to climb up and down until I couldn't stand it anymore... At the end of the track, you could enjoy a nice view of Sunshine Beach.

After two days in Noosa, I am now continuing to Brisbane, my last stop on the East Coast. This means that 20 days on the East Coast are slowly coming to an end. It's crazy how fast time flies...
