Day 6: Searching for the Fish

Today we slept in and had a relaxed breakfast. It's nice when you have been standing for a night and everything has more or less found its place.

Then we rode the e-bikes from Ziemupe to Pāvilosta. 30 km one way and not on gravel roads like we know them...

Short break at the Akmeņraga lighthouse after about 16 km. And then we continued.

Once we arrived in Pāvilosta, we sat down at the harbor and had a picnic. Afterwards, we went on a search for the fish smokehouse. It was highly recommended on the internet. Since we couldn't find it ourselves, we went to the tourist information office and a friendly staff member helped us there. She gave us a brochure in German about Pāvilosta and explained how to get there. And after 5 minutes, we were there. We didn't manage to make a quick selection.

Together with the saleswoman, we decided on 3 fish (salmon, oil fish, and mackerel) in English and with hand gestures and paid € 3.54... :)

Afterwards, we made a detour to the supermarket and then drove back to the camper.

In total, we drove 61.3 km in 4:15 minutes. The roads were very adventurous, gravel, sand, mud, forest floor. It was exhausting but also a lot of fun.

Then we took a warm shower and afterwards enjoyed our fish in a green sitting area, which was very idyllic, and of course it tasted much better after this tour :)
