It continued over the Kirkstone Pass to Ambleside, but not on the crowded main route, but on a side road.

From the Kirkstone Pass there is a shortcut down to Ambleside, where you can hear exciting things. Narrow, steep, and scenic beautiful. It's called the Struggle. It's clear that we have to drive there.

The village is really beautiful, very well preserved and tidy. Also very touristy, but one probably doesn't exist without the other.

We walk through its alleys, enjoy the flair and buy ourselves a beer and an Aperol.

The landmark of Ambleside is the old potato storage over the river

For overnight stays, we go up the struggle again, a short distance, and we are perfectly positioned with a beautiful view of the lake and the town.

Perfect weather the next morning.
