Do you remember? Not too long ago, we reported on the beginning of our journey. In New Zealand or in Maori tradition, the land of the great white cloud. We were captivated by this country and overwhelmed by the people, nature, spirituality, and opportunities. Tomorrow, our time in New Zealand will come to an end, a long flight will bring us back to our family, friends, and home. We are looking forward to it, but the question remains whether something will be missing without the jungle, the bird chirping, the mountains, or the sea? We will find out!
The separation from New Zealand took place after our return from Stewart Island. We returned to Queenstown, from where we wanted to start the return journey to Auckland. Andreas promised me a luxurious stay in a double room in the middle of Queenstown (he was always responsible for possible hotel bookings, etc. The room in a hostel turned out to be a multi-bed penthouse😂. Four separate double bed suites made of wood with a fully equipped kitchen, television, and balcony! The shock quickly subsided and we settled for the multiple room at 4-star level.
Anyway, it was already very cold in Queenstown. After a completely rainy day and visibility of less than 10 meters, the surrounding mountains appeared in white snow the next morning. We know that you don't really need snow anymore, but it was a charming sight in the rising sun. The perfect farewell to the South Island, which we left with a flight from Queenstown to Auckland.
In Auckland, it has been raining since our arrival. Hopefully, it will stop when we fly home tomorrow (03/25). We will arrive in Frankfurt/Main on the morning of 03/26.
It will take a while to process the experiences. At the moment, we are in a cloud and it is not clear what emotional and factual changes our trip will bring. In any case, we are looking forward to sharing our experiences with everyone who is interested.
In this sense, we are looking forward to our reunion, hearing from you again, or getting to know you. The complete "Arriving in Leipzig" report will also be available!
We wish you a relaxed and hopefully friendly Easter week.
