Yesterday was the first day without rain since Romania. Finally, you could ride dry but dirty roads through beautiful areas. Some cities with their chaotic traffic were on my way. I think Turkish drivers are digital. Either they chug along at idle speed (0) or race at full throttle (1). There's not much in between. You get overtaken at an absurd speed, and just 100 meters further, you get slowed down because the driver suddenly remembered that he needs to turn. ЁЯШм In general, lane changing to turn is a foreign concept. You get into the lane and suddenly three cars are next to you, wanting to go in the same direction. But somehow, it always works out without accidents.
The routes through the coastal mountains are beautiful but challenging. Hairpin turns with extreme steep inclines and descents, garnished with gravel, very narrow with oncoming traffic (Drive on the right? What's that?) shooting around the curves at a crazy speed.
Compared to this, the Alps are a kindergarten, both in terms of driving and landscape.
During a break, I discovered a Spax screw in my rear wheel ЁЯШм It was quickly removed and the hole patched. A compressor and repair kit are a must on a journey like this. It's annoying to get a flat tire somewhere in a deserted area.
I also took another break at McDonald's, sometimes you just have to.
Eventually, in the afternoon, I reached my campsite. A dream. The view is priceless. I will stay here for two nights. Back tension requires a break from driving.
