Our bus first took us to the Hokokuji Bamboo Forest, which is located within a temple complex.

We continued to the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, which is located by a pond. There was a lot going on there: Japanese people were carrying bows and arrows, dressed like samurai, carrying sedan chairs around or visiting the holy sites.

Our group met at the agreed meeting point and then split up to look for something to eat in the Komachi-Dori Street area. I joined a couple to visit a Wagya restaurant that had been highly recommended to me online.

The restaurant was on the first floor and we had to wait a few minutes until three places became available at the table, the surface of which consisted largely of a cooking surface where a chef worked right in front of us, preparing our meat and side dishes to perfection. Full and satisfied, we returned to the bus.

Afterwards we went to the big Buddha in Kotoku-In and posed there for a group photo.

Afterwards we took a quick look at the Kenchoi Temple.

We drove back to Yokohama and still had time to visit a warehouse that had been converted into a shopping mall. There I had an urgent need. Help came in the form of a luxury Japanese toilet that welcomed me with the sound of the forest, birdsong and babbling brooks, as well as a preheated seat and gave me a shower at the touch of a button. I want something like that too!

This time the tour was far too temple-focused for my taste, but it wasn't boring.

I actually wanted to watch a film in the evening, but then I decided to go to sleep instead.
