São Miguel 🛀

From the Miradouro da Vista do Rei you look directly at the northern crater wall and can marvel at the two lakes in their full length. Next to the viewpoint there is also an old, abandoned hotel.

So much for the theory! It was so foggy that we didn't even get to see one of the highlights of São Miguel... and it was 13°C cool🥶

But on our last day the Azores high showed its best side again!

Our trip to Furnas to the thermal springs was great. The place smells like sulfur (rotten eggs). But not as bad as in Rotorua/New Zealand 🤣.

In the bath, the water from the ground is mixed with the cool river water so that the pool has a pleasant bathing temperature of 39°. (but there is no Jever, Karsten 😫)

So we can now prepare ourselves deeply relaxed for the way back..
