Hello everyone :)

Our today's day started as usual on this vacation, at 8 o'clock on the terrace, followed by a delicious breakfast.

The breakfast buffet in this hotel is really great again and there is nothing missing :)
After strengthening ourselves, we went back to the room, got ready, and packed everything for the day.

Right in front of our hotel, there is a scooter rental where we rented one for today and the day after tomorrow. We also dropped off the dirty laundry there and found some drinks and snacks for the road.

Ready for the discovery tour, we got on the scooter and started driving.
During the ride, I discovered a viewpoint (Viewpoint Hill) on Google Maps and guided Kevin there :)
The road went down from the street and onto a rough dirt path. We drove a little further and decided to leave the scooter at a clearing and continue on foot. It wasn't far anymore, because no more than five minutes later, we saw something that looked like an old, dilapidated viewpoint. The view was still beautiful!
We sat down and decided to stay here for a while. Just as we were enjoying the view, I suddenly saw a bird very close by, but not just any bird. 'Honey, look! Is that actually a bald eagle?' I asked Kevin. He confirmed my question and we watched the majestic bird fascinated until it flew away. Since we are not experts in bird knowledge, we researched briefly and found out that we were indeed correct :). The locals call it 'Lanta Eagle' :).

After about 30 minutes, the weather seemed to change, which meant it was time to leave - because after all, we still wanted to see something today :)

We decided to drive towards the south of the island, because there is a national park there and I thought I had read about some exciting tours.

But after only ten minutes, I already called out: 'Stooooooooooooooop!' Because I saw a pretty beach bar at Nui Beach and got thirsty immediately :)
We sat down and had a Coke and a watermelon juice directly on the beach loungers.
It was simply wonderfully relaxing!

The next stop was in the middle of the street, because there was a whole herd of monkeys at the roadside. We watched the animals for a while, and the longer we stayed, the more monkeys showed up. The jungle at the edge of the road almost seemed like a magic box :)
One really sweet scene was with a monkey mother and her baby:
A few cars drove by, then she joined her little one, seemed to say something to it, and then it clung to her belly until the mom crossed the road with it. The behavior fascinated us completely... :)

We continued to the national park, but when we arrived, it looked more like a 'Central Park' in London than a wild jungle. The park didn't appeal to us at that moment, but we'll keep it in mind :)

On the way back, we stopped at Bamboo Beach and to reach it, we had to walk a short distance. Once again, we passed a few monkeys and then one more... However, this 'one more' did not behave like the other monkeys we had seen so far, no... It was busy opening a coconut and must have felt threatened by Kevin in some way. The monkey started growling and ran straight towards Kevin. Kevin reacted and shouted at the monkey, using his backpack to create distance. I did the same and a short time later, the monkey fortunately backed off. A few seconds later, a Thai person armed with a slingshot came and asked if everything was okay. We nodded and thanked him and continued our walk to the beach.

We also stayed at the beach for a while, which we spent swimming, sunbathing, and chatting.

We continued driving towards the hotel and stopped at a nice restaurant with a fantastic view!

We sat in the restaurant for at least 1.5 hours (which is very long for us), and part of the reason for that was the food, which we had to wait for a bit. But with the ambiance, the wait didn't bother us at all :)

It was already around 5:30 p.m., and we got back on the scooter towards the hotel.
During the ride, it suddenly started to get very windy, which made us realize once again that today we had the wind on our side of the bay. Spontaneously, we turned around and stopped again at Nui Beach, where we enjoyed the beautiful sunset without any wind.

After that, it was definitely time to leave because that's when the mosquitoes come out :).

We bought some fruits on the way, got some drinks at the supermarket in front of our hotel, and now we are sitting on the terrace :)
It is already 8:15 p.m., and we're done for today ;)

So, my dears,
see you tomorroooooooooow :)
