13 days shoes over

प्रकाशित: 01.01.2018

As I said, I didn't do anything special today, just that my shoes are completely worn out, see picture.

What I totally forgot to write yesterday, I met a nice couple at Grandpa's. They're actually English but have been living in Australia for 25 years. Before that, they lived in Singapore for 10 years. She is a teacher and he is already retired. I understood her relatively well, but not him at all. They have three children, but none of them are in Australia anymore. One daughter is in England, the other daughter is in New Zealand, and the son lives in New York. The interesting thing about them was that besides Singapore, Australia, and England, they haven't seen anything else in the world. They always spend their vacations in England because their mother still lives there and his brother. He plays some sport, but I didn't quite understand which one, that's why they travel a lot in Australia. We talked for almost two hours. That was before the concert. After the concert, they had booked an after-party and could therefore stay in the restaurant and at the bar with a wonderful view of the fireworks. They were really lovely people. They live on the North Shore of Sydney. I even have their card and could visit them. But I probably won't. By the way, I also wanted to write about Australians and how I perceive them. Australians are extremely friendly people. Very polite. What I noticed is that when they get off the bus, no matter where, whether in the middle or at the back, they always say thank you. Even when they get on the bus, they are always greeted with kindness. The bus driver always gives you a friendly response. Even when you stand next to an Australian and the path narrows, he always lets you go first.

For example, on Day 3 of my hike to Hornby Lighthouse, I slipped in a bay in the cliffs and had abrasions on both knees, elbows, and my big toe. Immediately, several Australians were there. One of them poured water from a bottle over the wounds. A lady wanted to know if she should call my family. Later, she really wanted to drive me home by car. But they were just abrasions, it always looks so dramatic for me because I bleed so much (weak connective tissue).

I think I already wrote about the woman who drove me home in her car when I arrived at my new place. Australians don't rush and they are extremely friendly and helpful. Regarding the many people who are here at the moment, Michelle thinks that over 60% are tourists and at least 50% of them are from Asia. I don't know what I'm going to do tomorrow. Actually, I do know, I urgently need new shoes, see picture.

So Bondi Junction is on the agenda, wish me luck Roswitha
