Kuranda - Village in the Rainforest

The next major town after Murray Falls would have been Cairns. However, since we haven't heard much good about the city, we decided to go directly to Kuranda. A small hippie village in the mountains with two daily markets. After the obligatory market visit, we played a round of mini golf before heading to the butterfly sanctuary, which is supposedly one of the largest in the world. It was wonderful to watch these little colorful wonders flying around. in the afternoon we took a walking trail through the rainforest as a little taste of the Daintree Rainforest. Kuranda is definitely worth a visit, if only to escape the heat of the lowlands.
