Hey! Blooogtime! ☺️
I'm so punctual again. 😂 #sarcasm
Last Monday, I finally turned 20! 🥳 What can I say? It doesn't really feel any different. 😉 It was a day off here at the ranch. Many were out and about and not there at all. I had a few friends with whom I did a bit of stuff. Among other things, we did a photoshoot with the pink and gold number balloons. I started doing this a few years ago. You can see the result above in the pictures. 🙃
My family had sent me a few gifts in the mail beforehand. In my birthday letter, I also found a birthday garland with pictures of my family. I hung it up next to my bed. Now you can get a glimpse of how I live. 😄
In the evening, there was a small Harvest Party in the barn. Many American games were played and at the end, there was even a movie shown in the barn. But back to the games: We had Truck Pull and Broom Throwing, for example. 😂 Then there was a competition to see who could quickly pick up an apple from a filled water tub with their mouth, or the Pumpkin Passing Game, where you were out if you had the pumpkin in your hand when the music stopped. 😅 In one game, you had a partner and when called, you had to get up and find a free hay bale as quickly as possible. If you were the one left without a hay bale, you were out. 😄 I know, it all sounds a little crazy. 😂 The games also have names, but it's difficult to translate them meaningfully into German. Or maybe I just got bad at German... 😂😜
Last Tuesday, my host family invited me to go bowling. I had always wanted to go bowling here in Corry. However, it was always closed when I wanted to go. But this time, it worked out. 😃
Last Wednesday, we went to Freedom Falls again, near "Oil City". This city is famous because the first oil wells were drilled there in 1861. 😅 The city became the center of the petroleum industry in Pennsylvania and was home to the headquarters of the motor oil companies Pennzoil, Quaker State, and Wolf's Head. We drove for 1 hour and 20 minutes for this trip. 🚙 Here is a video that describes our trip a bit and shows the surroundings:
The colors of the trees were very intense in the fall, and they still are to some extent now. I love the fall here! 🍂 However, it's starting to get cold again. Snow has even been forecasted for the next three days. But I'm sure it won't stick. 😅 Are you more of a warm or cold type? 😄
Last Friday, in our media department, our boss showed us his new office that he bought in Corry. We will also spend some time there in the future to do photoshoots. It's much easier than at the ranch. Here, we always have to set up everything for a shoot and then take it down again. In the office in the city, we can just leave everything set up. 🙂 After that, we made a detour to the juice store. It's a really cozy place in our little town. 😊
Over the weekend, I talked to a lot of people on the phone. It's incredible how many people remembered my birthday. I couldn't keep up with replying. 😅 Thanks again! 😊 I put everyone who wanted to talk to me on my days off. It's always nice to exchange thoughts and hear how others are doing. ☺️
This week, I am almost done with my monthly projects. This time, I wanted to finish earlier so that I could have a few evenings where I don't have to do anything school-related. 😂 Next Tuesday is Grading Day again. 😁
This Thursday, our media team will go on a slightly longer tour. We will be going to Elk County, Pennsylvania. There are supposed to be deer at this location, and we want to photograph them. 📸 I will definitely have a story about it on my Instagram profile. It takes about 1 hour and 37 minutes to get to Elk County.
Our Thanksgiving break starts on November 20. Of course, I will leave the ranch again for a little trip. :D I won't reveal where I'm going yet. You know me, I always like to keep everything suspenseful. 😂 However, there are already a few hints in the next blog post (which will hopefully come out next weekend). 😅
The Thanksgiving break will last until November 29. This break is the shortest of all three breaks. However, the Christmas break starts again on December 18. It will last until January 3, 2022. But I don't want to think that far ahead yet. ☺️
So much for the outlook for the coming time.
Until then, your Salome 😃

It's much easier than at the ranch of course. Here we always have to build everything up for a shooting and then again get everything off. In the office in the city can just stay. 🙂 Afterwards we made also a detour to the juice store. That's really quite a cozy place in our small town. 😊
The weekend I talked a lot with a lot of people. It's amazing how many people thought of me on my birthday. I just didn't get the chance to answer. 😅 Thank you once again! 😊 I then put everyone who wanted to talk directly on my free days. It's always nice times just to talk and from others to hear how they are doing. ☺️
This week I'm almost done with my monthly projects. This time I wanted to be done earlier, just so I have a couple of evenings just doing "nothing" school stuff. 😂 Next Tuesday is grading day again. 😁
