When I mention that I write a blog, people usually tell me 'I did the same, but stopped it after two or three months' and I thought 'no, that's not going to happen to me'. Now, after two months, I can feel it. Nevertheless, I will try to refresh my blog at least once a month.
When I last wrote, I was in Miri (Borneo). In Miri, I met a guy who rows for the Malaysian national team. To stay fit, he goes to the gym and boxing class. The first few days in Miri, I was so annoyed by the horrible bad infrastructure that I did nothing but go to the gym and boxing class with Chaske. I finished the entire third season of Gotham on Netflix during this time. Then, I talked to a guy from the States and we decided to rent a car, together with a girl from Denmark. We went to a cave and a national park around Miri, and then moved to Brunei. Never heard of Brunei? Neither had I. It's an incredibly small country with about 400,000 inhabitants. It has a lot of oil and is one of the richest countries in the world. You can see almost anything in two days. From Brunei, I went back to Miri to catch my flight to Bangkok.
Three years ago, I spent two days in BKK and I hated it. It's loud, fast, and dirty. So this time, I wasn't quite happy that I had to spend almost a month there. I was wrong, though. When you are open to it, there are plenty of things to do and see in BKK. Especially after the slow-paced Borneo, it's a pleasure to be in BKK. The temples in Bangkok are by far the most beautiful ones I have seen. There are neon night markets, airplane graveyards, abandoned buildings, and cats on every corner. The only downside is that Bangkok is really hot, and sweating after getting a tattoo is quite uncomfortable.
