Oh Tokyo, you leave me speechless 🇯🇵🌃

Anyone who knows me knows that I am difficult to silence. But Tokyo just leaves me speechless.

Of course I’ll still tell you about our day. A day for the drawer with the very special memories in your head.

In the morning we went to the nearest baby store to buy gloves for Kian. It's supposed to get significantly warmer in the coming days, but since we spend hours outside, we currently feel more comfortable when he wears them.

Afterwards we went from Asakusa, where we ate one of the most delicious apple tarts ever, for a short detour to Akasaka. There is a Harry Potter tunnel, a café and a statue of the time turner - of course a must for me as a Harry fan.

Then we went to Harajuku. And there first to the Meiji Shrine and then to a busy shopping street whose name I have already forgotten.

There were Japanese crepes filled with everything your heart could desire - I've never seen such a large selection. We decided via an online coin toss 😂😂. The choice fell on strawberry cream chocolate cake. The other option would have been apple cinnamon cream. But our selection was extremely tasty. Afterwards I wanted the other kind too but the queue was probably a hundred meters long 😂

So we continued to the famous Shibuya intersection. At peak times, 2,500 people cross the street here per traffic light phase. A traffic light phase lasts around 50 seconds. Since there is currently a construction site there, there certainly weren't that many people, but it was still so fascinating. Would love to see this intersection in Bangkok 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

In the evening we went to the Government Building - there you can get a free view of the city panorama. And what a 🤩🤩 Even though I'm still afraid of heights, skylines from above inspire me every time.

Afterwards there was a light show on the building, which was really cool.

We had dinner at a special place. Do you remember CocoIchybanya? Siar and I always eat there, traditionally in Bangkok. The chain comes from Japan and offers Japanese curry. Of course, in Tokyo we had to go there and what can I say? Just awesome!

There are thousands of other little pieces of things I've seen floating around in my head. But I have to sort them out first. I'm overwhelmed by everything.

And I was thinking about that today: Even though I stand out extremely well as a white woman among the Japanese, I haven't felt strange or wrong for a second. And do you know why? Because I'm not being noticed at all. And shouldn't THAT be the case above all?! How nice it would be if we were all at home all over the world ❤️🌎
